No, there are no income restrictions. All income levels qualify and are subject to the scheme.

Application Process

Customers can apply through email at incentivescheme@merafong.gov.za or in person at the designated application centres.

Yes. Applications are open from 14 February 2024 to 30 June 2024.

The maximum processing time is 48 hours from the submission of a complete application.

Payment Terms

The minimum monthly payment is determined by balances split over 8 months.

No, there is no grace period for missed payments. Missed payments will void the scheme.

In case of defaults, the account defaults to the 60/40 policy as stated in the municipality’s credit control policy.

The maximum timeframe for completing the payment arrangement is 8 months.
